Kate, this is for you, since you did it first and I'm just blindly following your lead.

Interpol---Obstacle 1
Luis
NOt long after I started talking to him outside of the board, I came online drunk one night (hard to believe, eh?) and I don't know who figured out how to make MSN Messenger play a song whenever a certain person logged in. This is the song he picked. But, when I sobered up, I couldn't remember what I did and just left it like that for more than 3 months. I remember lying on my futon, almost asleep after a hellacious day, and that started playing suddenly. Right away, I crawled out of bed and started talking to him. Actually, this is probably how I got to know him.

Billy Ocean---Get Out Of My Dreams (and into my car)
Ashley Z.
OAC, 1st period half-spare. Every Friday, we went out for twinkies and slushies for breakfast, then came back to the school parking lot in her huge Suburban and worked on our 'corriographed dance' to this (which, I just found out a few weeks ago, we both still remember).

Bette Midler--- Wind Beneath My Wings
Jenny-fluer, Ashley L., and my little sister Tara
We had to go to a really swanky bridal shower for our cousin, just after we had gotten caught sharing a really fucked up private joke (some guys at the movies thought we were lesbians instead of family, so we wrote e-mails pretending to hit on each other). Aunt Cheryl comes over and says that we absolutely MUST act and think like adults. I think it was Ashley who thought the most adult thing we'd know of (Jen and I were 16, Ash and T were 13) was Better Midler, and we broke into song. Weeks later, we requested it on the juke box at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Mexican Town, and it got stuck. For 2 hours in the lobby, it was nothing but Bette!

Anabolic Frolic--- Raver's Anthem
Kristy Lane
Many, many nights in OAC spent in her basement, getting drunk and high, listening to this song.

Robbie Williams---Rock DJ
Robin
He was so amaized that I listened to things that weren't strictly radio play. Then he pulled this outof nowhere and said, "It's not Top 40!" It's somewhat addicting, but then again, so was Robin.

ABBA--- Dancing Queen
Shanna
Gr,12 prom. This song comes on, and Shanna screams like a fricken banshee! People stopped and looked at her, but we didn't care. None of those people liked us anyway, so we were as crazy as we could be.

Raffi--- Baby Beluga
Dar and her parties.
Actually, one particular party in Gr.12. To sum it all up: I spanked a tent and was officially ordained "Pickles, the Tent Dominatrix"; the tent ate Sasha Puppy; Dar's mum got drunk and played the children's music station on the satellite speakers, but I danced anyways; Diana had her third cooler! (her mum gave her 4, and we had 2 parties, so she was only allowed 2 a night. What a reble!); John showed up with green hair the next morning, and I completely blew things with him yet again (you know, I still regret all of what happened to prevent us from being topgether)

Prodigy--Breathe
Blur---Song 2
Tim Elijah
My first "official" date with Ted, and he stood me up. So, I randomly found Tim at the Loop. We declared these "our songs" and danced half the night. Then we went to the Berlin lounge, and I spent the night wondering why I was dating Ted and not him (I also spent the better part of the next 2 years wondering the same thing. But by then, Tim had just dossappeared).

Sublime--- Santeria
Claude (ex-boyfriend, although we were friends longer than we dated)
That night we walked from Changez to the Crazy Horse. His friend was hanging his boot from his nipple ring, and it was my first time in a karaoke bar. I didn't sing, but Claude did. I don't know why, I heard him sing hundreds of songs in the time we hung out, but this is the one I always remember.

Lost Souls Division-- Black Letter Junkies
Ted (ex, thankfully)
Do you really think there wouldn't be a song that reminded me of him? This was one from his band, and I thought I had a pretty good idea what it was all about. I swear, for like 3 months, every week, Ted had a different explaination for what the lyrics meant. Turns out, I was right (and hae the crappy introduction/poem to prove it) but he would never admit it.

Mindless Self-Indulgence--- Diabolical
Jim Ray
Actually, just about everything from these guys reminds me of him from time to time. If anyone knows where he wandered off to (last I heard, he ran away withthe travelling carnival), please tell me! He always had MSI with him, whether it was in his car or mine. I seriously need to slap him, thank him, and buy him a beer (for leaving without saying good-bye; for partially scaring away Nikk; that day at Spicoli's I gave Nikk enough for a round for the three of us, but he only bought for me and him. So, actually Nikk owes him, but I don't want his stank money).

The Mamas and the Papas--- California Dreaming
Laura Brannigan--- Gloria
The Beatles--- Maxwell's Silver Hammer
Mum
The first two are from recently. Every time we hear them, we burst out into song (which isn't pretty). The third one, mum would sing to me when I was a baby. Maybe that explains why, at age 8, I wanted to be a Forensic Psychologist who specialized in the profliing of serial killers and mass muderers, and the collection of data on both in the hopes of establishing a common trait to be looked out for in the future. Either that, or I'm just seriously messed up.

Sonny and Cher---- I've Got You Babe
Danny Brennan
We did this at karaoke one night. I don't know why, but I always had a thing for him, thought he looked like Joey ramone if Joey Ramone was hot. He stole me from the bar (while Stef and dad were watching my things), brought me out to his car to say good bye, and kissed me. That was the last time I saw him.

Usher--- Yeah
Stef and Neil from R.K's
I know, this music is so not typical of any of us, but we were at R.K's when they were done work, and Stef and I got drunk and danced to this at the surpirse birthday party being thrown for some guy we didn't know. That was the night I was so drunk and high, I hid in a snow bank when Neil tried to walk me home, because I thought he was Ted from afar.

System of a Down--- B.Y.O.B
Rammstien-- Amerika
Blind Melon-- No Rain
Brent
Since he practices his oboe constantly (but it pays off: he just got invited to join th Windosor Junior Orchestra on top of the Windsor Youth Orchestra), he learned huge chunks of the top two to help keep me sane. For No Rain, he learned all the vocal and the guitar picking on oboe, so I can acompany him on dad's accoustic.

I think I'll continue this another night. Since I always have music playing, I have a song for each memory, so this could end up quite a long list.
