I was about to say that this 'campaign' niggas didn't even fight for Civil Rights this hard, but I digress) was somehow a good thing, but replaying this over and over in my head, I had to back it up.
From my understanding (and a lil help from this Wiki), the whole thing was to encompass people in the ______ game to stop snitching when A. they get busted, saying they should just do their time, and B. when something bad happens, handling it yourself instead of always running to police.
Selling this concept to everyday people is a bit redundant, because when you think about it, people didn't really snitch in the hood before all this for fear of retaliation of some sort. So there had to be another constituency, right?
Either way, the whole thing is fucked up, because our communities are constantly being ransacked and assaulted from all sides, yet the one thing people think they can do to help the situation is being taken from them by niggas that wanna sell T-shirts. Sometimes I don't know which is worse, the oppression colored folks are already under from all sides, or the oppression we frequently put on ourselves...
