"Sam Mendes's production company is involved in plans to turn acclaimed drama Lost in Austen into a Hollywood movie
The story, which was shown on ITV1 last year, featured a frustrated romantic Jane Austen fan transported back in time to the world of Pride and Prejudice.
A film version of the show is being developed by the show's original UK independent producer Mammoth Screen, along with Neal Street Productions, with Mendes as an executive producer, the companies confirmed.
Neal Street Productions, which is behind films like the Oscar-nominated Revolutionary Road starring Mendes's wife Kate Winslet, was set up in 2003 by the award-winning director and others.
The project, which is in its early stages, is being developed for Sony Pictures and casting is yet to be announced."
