day one is over... THANK GOD
so emily, elex, and i got home from dinner (ate at the alehouse - 35 fried shrimp with fries for 9.95!) around 715, and we all went to bed at 730. i fell asleep about 10 minutes after i lay down, and...
i slept. no nightmares. no tossing and turning. i slept, and slept until 6 am, when i randomly awoke, then slept again til 830, when emily woke me up. been sitting around since then, went outside - raining, but still about 75 degrees.
i'm just so glad yesterday ended. it was the shittiest day i've had in a while, spending 18 hours inside a car, blowing 1/4 of my money on tolls, trying so desperately to find some random air force base so i can replace tires that, for now, i dont even need (last i checked, there arent any ice storms in florida). at least it's over. let's see if i can actually enjoy my vacation.
only 2 days til christmas. isnt that so strange? doesnt feel like christmas at all, but maybe thats because i'm not going to have a christmas this year. and that has to be the most satisfying thing of all. after three years of spending every holiday season hovering over the phone waiting to see if kelly will call, if kelly will come see me, if kelly will even remember i exist, i dont have to worry about that anymore. it's a wonderful feeling... i feel so much less alone, even though i'm going to be severely lacking in basic human contact for the next 3 weeks. but hey - there's a difference in being alone because no one is around, and being alone because the person you love doesnt love you. i've made my peace with the second; if i can handle the first then this vacation will be FABULOUS!
i'm out. going to shower, maybe grab some BK/Mcdonald's for breakfast, and then head back to the road. hope everybody's doing okay.

PS! JP/SAMIR - i'm so sorry i didnt answer my phone guys, but i was just so fucking exhausted. next week definitely, and i'll have tons to talk about, since i'll have been in florida for a week by then. i'll go around and interview people if you want. that would be interesting.
