Title: Endless Summer
Pairing: Lucius/Pansy
Rating: nothing too harmful
Summary: It's summer. It's hot. Lucius has to find some way to cool off.
A/N: This came to me while I was sunbathing in my neighbor's pool. I blame too much sun, Lolita, and iced tea. Also, it seems that it can be built upon, but I'm too tired to write it. I dare you to continue this fic.

Endless Summer

Looking wasn’t a crime, right? Only if he acted could he end up ruining lives. Letting his mind wander down paths of torrid and forbidden fantasies was acceptable, wasn’t it? As long as he never acted on them? But, oh, how he wanted to desperately.

The summer season brought mixed feelings to Lucius Malfoy. While constant heat meant bathing suits and tiny little skirts that barely covered bums, it also meant the torture of looking, but not touching. It wasn’t that Lucius didn’t love Narcissa. By all means, he did. It just seemed a little cosmically unfair to have such delicate morsels frolicking around his mansion without being able to sample their sweetness. Narcissa never wore those skimpy scraps of material passing themselves off as skirts.

Perhaps she ought to, Lucius thought grimly as he stopped at the window in the hallway. It was his favorite lookout spot these days. Three floors up with a perfect view of the expansive gardens the Malfoy Manor had to offer. But it wasn’t his wife’s gardens he was after; Lucius smirked as his eyes left the colorless peacock amidst the rose bushes in search of his prize. If one got closer to the window and looked directly downward, there was a perfect view of the swimming pool Lucius had installed just this summer at the request of his son.

Curiously enough, Draco had yet to step foot into the pool and summer was already beginning its end. In fact, the only person who utilized this amenity daily was Lucius’ son’s fiancée. And this, Lucius thought wryly, stepping a bit closer to the window, preparing himself, was where his problem begun and ended.

She was there, as he expected. Lying upon what looked like a giant golden daisy, enchanted to stay afloat above the unnaturally turquoise water. She was all legs and breasts, only a small black bikini keeping her from revealing herself to the whole world. She was a goddess in human form, basking in the summer sunlight and Lucius worshipped her from his altar, three stories above ground. And yet, despite her perfect queen-like appeal, there was something else that attracted Lucius. Perhaps it was the careless way one of her legs slipped between the yellow petals of her flower-raft, toes creating ripples in the water. Perhaps it was the way her damp black hair clung to her cheeks and neck in a most delectable way. But Lucius knew not to lie to himself. He wanted Pansy because he couldn’t have her. Not without destroying everything he had built his life around and he wasn’t sure he could sacrifice that just yet.

So he watched from his window in silent torture and told himself that if he could just prolong this moment indefinitely-this endless summer heat-then he would be fine. Content with just looking. If only he could just…
