On the car ride there, I couldn't help but think of Angel more and more. I had been suppressing my anger and frustration of not being able to find him for a long time. Now that we knew exactly what happened I felt as though I could snap at any given moment. Luckily Gunn was there to calm me down...sort of. He didn't say much of anything the whole

Suddenly, Cordelia began ranting, and I looked over at her, startled.
"I don't know. I don't know what Slayer-Psycho's thing is, I don't know why Connor lied to us..." I paused, then glanced at her seriously. "I don't even know if Angel's gonna be okay. I mean, three months with the Little Mermaid and no food ain't gonna be pretty..."
Back when I was with my gang, I could remember encountering a starving vampire. I didn't know why it hadn't fed... didn't much care at the time, either. All I knew was the thing was a vampire, and needed to die. So, we had staked the thing, after it had gone after one of the crew, staggering and weaving like it was drunk, and then... So thin, and babbling in nonesense.
I didn't want to see Angel like that...
Angel may have been a vampire, but damn. I knew him, and... I would never forget the fact that he was a vampire. Could never forget that, especially with even a slight chance that Angelus might come out to play some dark night. But I knew where Angel stood, and for now, it was where I stood.
Fighting against the creatures that killed innocent people in the middle of the night. Protecting people, like I hadn't been able to protect Alonna. Not to mention... he was okay. For being dead.
"Did you bring any blood?" I asked Cordy. "He's going to need it," I told her. My hands tightened on the sterring wheel, as we got closer to where Angel was supposedly hidden.

"Yeah it's all here, although it does smell funny. Do you think blood can go bad?"
I had to admit I didn't want to see Angel in such a bad shape. I never have, well there was the occasional patching up but they've never been too bad. All I could think of was 'Interview with a Vampire' and if Angel would look like Lestat after he'd been dumped into the sewer.
I watched as we got closer to the spot. Memories of me, standing there waiting for him, came into my head. I was so anxious to see him that day. I waited for hours thinking he might have been running a little late. Well more than a little, but after he didn't show up I felt as If I had lost him. I turn my attention back to Gunn.
"Do you know where should start looking?"

I looked along a stretch of empty beach, and sighed. The waves went on forever, and out even further. I didn't think we'd have much chance of finding him. I mean... an entire ocean? And here we were, two humans standing on a beach.
"Damn." I muttered. "Any visions 'bout this brewing, Cordy? 'Cause the ocean... pretty big," I said.
I glanced at her as she checked her bag again. Yeah, she had blood. Good. Yes, blood could go bad, but... I wasn't going to tell her that just now. I didn't even want to think about bad blood right now...

"Do you think visions just come easily and periodically? Because boy have I got news for you, If I would've had a vision it probably wouldn't have taken this long. Obviously that Powers that Be are trying to have a little fun with us."
I look up at the sky as I mention them. I hope I said it just loud enough for them to get the point. I again look around at the ocean, I noticed that further down the beach there was several boats on the pier. I look over at Gunn and point.
"Guess I didn't need a vision for that."
Now to get ready for a long night.

Besides, even if she did know how to drive a boat, well, not like we were going to find him in one night. Not even if we had GPS, 'cause the ocean probably wasn't going to just send out a little fishie guide to show us the way to our lost vampire friend.
"So, no vision, but a boat." I glanced at Cordelia, then tilted my head toward the docks. "Ready?"
Man, I hoped that I didn't get sea sick... wouldn't be the best time for it, and I hadn't ever even been on a boat before...

I looked at him and raised a brow. "Of course I don't know how to drive a boat. I used to have money. Meaning people drove the boats for me." I said, half smiling. Well it was half true. I was only out on the boats a couple of times and each time I got .. sea sick.
"I would say, Oh! Get a metal detector, but even I'm not that blonde. And trust me, I do have my moments." I glanced at the docks and nodded.
"As I'll ever be." I replied as we started to make our way towards the boat. "Eeny meeny miney .. I say screw it and we go with the first one we see that looks easy to drive." I said shrugging.
Anybody got any dramamine or whatever it was that you took to prevent sea-sickness? Cause I had the strangest feeling both Gunn and myself were going to need it.

I began walking to the docks, looking at Cordelia. The docks were eerily silent, except for the waves hittin' the posts in the water and the sides of the boat. Kinda lulling, and peaceful in a way... I shook myself. Nah, couldn't be getting complacent just now. Still had a vamp to find.
"This'll be fun," I said sarcastically. "I mean, two people who've never driven a boat, one of which ain't been in a boat, said boat, and a big, mean ocean..." I rolled my eyes.
"We're gonna be out here all night. And longer. And how the hell are we supposed to tell how easy a boat looks to drive?" I asked irritably.
This wasn't my best moment- I had never been in a boat... and I wasn't looking forward to it now. One small little boat, only some wood between me and the ocean, where there were all sorts of fish and sharks to eat you... I shuddered.
"How about this one?" I finally asked. "I mean... it's big," I said hopefully. All the more between me and the flesh-hungry fishes cold water. Hadn't been swimmin' in forever either, so... yeah. That could be bad, too...

"That one over there." I said, pointing to a smaller speed boat thing. "It's not too small and it looks fast. Should protect us against the big scary sharks." I said, a look of mock fear on my face.
I climbed down the ladder and into the boat. "I hope you know how to hotwire a car? Cause it's kinda the same as hotwiring a boat. I think." I said, flashing him a grin.
I had absolutely NO clue what I was talking about, yet that had never stopped me before.

Instead, I shot her a dirty look. "Remember when you went and got Angel's car stolen?" I glanced at the boat. "I don't hotwire cars. Not to mention... boat, car. Different things."
I stopped in front of the boat Cordy had pointed at, and raised an eyebrow. "How m'I supposed to drive this thing? There's no brakes or anything."
Not to mention, I didn't know how to start the thing; if there was a key, if you needed to pull a cord like a lawnmower my gram used to have, or something else. Hell, we didn't even know if it had gas in it, or if it had an alarm... Last thing we needed was to get arrested while trying to help Angel out.

"Wasn't saving your life involved with the car stealing?" I asked, raising a brow. "Yeah. Thought so. And c'mon. All we gotta do is hop in, search for a key, and turn it on."
I thought for a second. "You think a bobby pin would do it?" I asked. Not like Gunn would have one. What with him being a boy without hair. I might have one somewhere though.
"Besides, there's a little lever and you pull it down and it makes us go in reverse and if you push it up, it makes us go foward." I nodded. I was pretty sure that's how it worked.

I glanced around, then stepped down into the boat, then waited for Cordelia to follow. I offered her my hand- was kinda slippery, but then, it was in the water, wasn't it?
"So, you tellin' me you know how to hotwire usin' a bobbypin?" I asked her, nodding toward the sterring wheel of the boat. "'Cause I sure don't..."
Reply
"Now now, Gunn. Don't go getting yourself in a twist. I'll drive." I said, offering him a cheesy smile.
"Now. All we need to do is .. flip a couple of switches .. or pull some levers .. does it look like I have a bobby pin hidden somewhere?" I asked, getting more aggravated by the minute. I raised a brow at him as he stepped back.
Fear the wrath of Cordelia Chase when she doesn't have a bobby pin to steal a boat with.

"So, um..." I glanced again. Nope, nothing labelled 'on/off'. "See anything labeled 'on', 'off', or 'power'?"
I glanced up the dock; there was still no one around, which was probably really good. The last thing we needed was probably to have someone see two people trying to steal a boat, when they didn't even have the first clue about how to get the boat started...

"You know .. we've got people at Angel Investigations, like Wes and Fred, who can research demons like a hellcat, then there's you and Angel, who can fight anything, then there's me, who can do everything else. But not one of us knows who to drive OR start a boat. I think we need to hire someone else, mainly one who specializes in water and boats." I shrugged. Not like there have been many times when we needed to steal a boat.
Reply
"Yeah, hire someone else, with our non-existent payroll," I said, rolling my eyes. "'Hi, would you like to work for us? We fight demons, and sometime we might need a boat... yes, demons are real... what psyche ward?'"
Meanwhile, I looked at the buttons, until I saw a switch labeled 'main power'. I pushed it, and lights came on in the dash. From there, I grinned at Cordy, before looking for the next thing to play with to get this rig goin'.

Psyche ward. "Psyche ward my ass. We could always bring them to Sunnydale ..." I trailed off. Hello, looney bin? We got a live one.
"Yeah I see your point. Shutup."
I rolled my eyes. He was looking awfully smug for starting the boat. "Now pull this lever towards you .. so we can, you know, go in reverse. We do have to back out, unless you want to drive through this wood." I crossed my arms.
"Away we go, Gilligan." I smirked.
