Title: It Ain't Easy Being Dead
Characters/Pairings: Hurley, Charlie, Ana-Lucia, Libby. Vaguest mention of Hurley/Libby ever.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Certain people might be dead, but they're still here, and looking out for Hurley.
Spoilers: For 5x2 "The Lie".
Notes: Er. Written right after I saw "The Lie", and one scene in particular. Should probably not be taken seriously.

“Oh, what is he doing?” Charlie groaned as he watched the events unfolding nearby. He turned to the two women with him. “So, which of you ladies wants to sort him out this time?”

Libby blanched at the suggestion. “Uh… no… no, not me. I can’t, not yet.” She hugged herself, looking at the others apologetically. “Sorry. Uh… if he talks to you… tell him I said Hi?”
Ana-Lucia gave her a quick smile. “Sure, okay. Looks like it’s down to me anyway.”
“How’re you going to do it?”
“I’ve got an idea…”

Ana-Lucia closed her eyes and concentrated. When she opened her eyes again, her t-shirt and jeans had been replaced by an LA cop’s uniform, and there was a car standing nearby. Charlie whistled appreciatively. “Nice one.”
“Yeah, well, let’s hope he doesn’t freak out, like he did when you tried to talk to him, Pace.” With that, Ana climbed into her car and sped down the street, lights flashing and siren wailing.

“He freaked.” Ana opened the door of her car and got out. “I think I got through to him, though.”

She stepped away from the car just before it vanished again - a second later, her cop outfit had been replaced with her normal clothes again.

Libby went up to her. “He will be okay, though, won’t he? With… those people after him… he’ll be all right?”
“I think so. ‘Sides, he’s got us looking out for him, hasn’t he?”
