A while ago, there was a picture of Josh making the rounds. It looked like this:
I mailed it to a couple of friends, because, well, just look at him, will you? Imagine my surprise when I received a reply from hendercats which was quite...inspiring. At least, I think it was her reply! It actually sounded more like something Desmond might have said the first time he ever laid eyes on a sleep-tousled Sawyer. Of course, I was moved to reply from Sawyer's pov. And that's how this all began.
Initially there will be several individual ficlets and drabbles posted, stand alone pieces in no particular order, some you may have seen before, others are brand new.
The greater purpose for this community, however, is something with the working title of The Epic, for epic in its endeavor it shall be. Desmond and Sawyer didn't just look at each other one day and say, "Hey, wanna find us a cozy little cave and screw each other's brains out?" No, they were actually quite hesitant about the whole thing, fighting the current for a while. But a strong undertow will pull you along with it every time, no matter how hard you fight. The Epic is the multi-chapter story of how this pairing came to be, and what happened after that.
The Epic is a collaborative effort, with us writing chapters individually or together, as the muses demand. Other non-Epic D/S fic will be included here as well and may, or may not, relate to the same Epic-verse.
The thing is, we will always post our Desmond/Sawyer fic, and nothing but, here at lost_caves, and you are welcome to stop by for a visit any time. If you like what you read (or see), please let us know.
Just one more thing. We both believe, with our collective heart and soul, in the absolute love between Des and Pen. lost_caves is, however, an AU comm, and this 'verse is all about the two guys who stole our own hearts way back when.
(We also believe in men who wear Dangerously Low Jeans, and Mostly-Unbuttoned Button Up Shirts!)
