When I saw you were writing this story of what happened after Twister I was so happy (meant to say that a long time ago >.>)

Bruticus' thoughts...I just love this part. I wonder if Vortex will start to be able to feel them through the gestalt bond.

A void where there should have been a frantic whirl of tactile memory and cruel, cold impulses.

Ah . . . and THERE we have the real Vortex. At least, Vortex from Onslaught's understanding and very abridged statement thereof.

Tactile memories, LOL. I believe THAT.

lol! Yes :D And if there's anyone who truly knows him, it'll be Onslaught ;)

Cool. I'm sorry I wasn't around for the last update, because Vortex's unexpected but frighteningly intense crush on First Aid is just... scary. If First Aid had even a hint of the kinds of thoughts swirling around in Vortex's head while he stood there, those energy bars would not have seemed nearly enough. Don't get too close to the cage, Clarisse. Scary!

And this chapter backed off a little on the creep factor, thank goodness, exploring more of the dysfunctional Combaticons' relationship. Bringing Bruticus into it was clever; He is not so concerned with whether he likes Vortex or not, He just knows that a part of Himself is missing, and He wants it back. He is simpler and more direct than the individual minds that form Him. Now we can really see the motivation for the team in bringing back one of their own, even if they hate him to bits.

Thanks for reading, and for the feedback! :D

Don't get too close to the cage, Clarisse. This made me giggle so much, awesome :D I'm glad it came across the way it did, as scary was totally one of the things I was aiming for with that!

As for backing off from the creep factor, yep, I thought it might be time for that (especially given what happens in the next plot arc). Much as I love creepy stuff, the plot needed to progress :P

Swindle, it was not an implication, it was explicit: you're a lazy, selfish glutton.
ROFL!!! *pats Onslaught*

Love the description of Bruticus's thought processes and reaction to the missing part of himself.

Something I drew for this story, though I'll be the first to admit that my artistic talent is seriously lacking. It's just Vortex lounging in his (hideously colored) cell while the changing of the guards takes place, hosted on imageshack.

OMG THAT IS SO COOL! *glomps* I love his relaxed evil pose :D (and the colouring effect too!)

Thankyou! :D :D :D (is it OK to link to this in my next post? :D )

This made me squee so damned much! And has turned the 'going back to work after a fortnight's holiday' dull and depressing morning into a morning of awesome :D

Well Vortex is kind of a terrifying guy, especially the awesome way you write him. I don't think there's a way to draw him that isn't terrifying.

(and you can link to it if you want. It's yours now.)

I'm glad it could help take the dull and depressing out of your morning at least a little bit XD
