IMPORTANT Mod Post
We are sad to inform you all that lost__awards
will be shutting down. However, we are equally excited to let
you know our work will continue on at the original LIA domain
lost_awards. oakmead the
orginal founder and maintainer of the LIAs has been kind enough to
reopen the old domain, and allow us to maintain/run it from here on
out. Amber(firithel_icons), Anna(bananabelcher),
and myself (laura4lad) want to thank the former
LIA staff for all of their hard work and wish them the best of
luck in their future endeavors.
There are some big changes in the works, so we don't expect to open nominations back up immediately. We have purchased a paid account, and Amber is looking for the perfect layout as we speak. Amber, Anna, and I have come up with a new list of catergories. These catergories contain old and new content so please take the time to become familiar with them. We will NEED winning banners, and if you'd like to make them please post them here. OR you can e-mail me with them at LAURA4LAD@aol.com Participants will be credited in the userinfo.
--THE GREATER GOOD-Formally called white rabbit, this catergory should contain nominations that depict the overall best lost icons. Here is the twist, members can only nominate one of the icons they have already nominated in the current round. For example, if I nominated 10 icons in various catergories, I'd have to pick one out of those ten for THE GREATER GOOD.
We have retired the Born to Run, and replaced it with the following two catergories. Depending on their popularity we may end up combining them to form one catergory.
--THE OTHER 48 DAYS-nominated icons in this catergory should contain the overall best tallies icon/flashback or present. Tallies=The Tail end survivors. Example-Ana, Libby, Benard, Eko, etc.
--EXODUS-nominated icons in this catergory should contain the overall best fusies icon/flashback or present. Fusies=Fuselage survivors. Example-Jack, Kate, Locke, Charlie...(the original cast.)
--COLLISION-same as the former community, nominations should depict the best use of cropping.
--AND FOUND...-Formally known as Hearts & Minds, these icons are the best ship/pairing icons.
--TABULA RASA-This was called ADRIFT at the old community. Translated, Tabula Rasa means "blank slate." We decided it was the perfect name for the best textless icon catergory.
--THE 23rd PSALM--Known as WALKABOUT before, this catergory contains icons with the best use of text.
--ORIENTATION-same as the former community, best black and white icons.
--FIRE AND WATER-Formally called House of the Rising Sun, this catergory contains icons which have best use of color.
-**new**-WHATEVER THE CASE MAY BE-The newest fad to hit the iconizing world is the use of boarders on icons. Whether it be a picture frame, or thick black stripes we decided the iconizing community needed a seperate catergory to embrace and honor this new trend. Please feel free to pose questions as they arise about this new catergory.
--MAN OF SCIENCE, MAN OF FAITH--This catergory was known as NUMBERS, and will continue to depict icons illustrating the strange island characteristics such as polar bears, #s, monster, dharma, etc.
--DO NO HARM--Formally known as Exodus, these are the best funny icons.
--ABANDONED-This catergory remains the same as best emotional icons. Remember these can be happy or sad.
--RAISED BY ANOTHER--This was called OUTLAWS, and will contain icons of the lost actors outside of their LOST roles.
--THE HUNTING PARTY--this is a mod chosen catergory that will change on a weekly basis.
