Well, I made amends, in the general sense. But the devil's in the details. And I know the cause, and I want to stop, but I can't do it. I just can't do it. There was love, I meant...there were accidents. So tell me which is which? Cause I just can't work it out. I have no way of knowing the truth. With time, it dissolves.
Where do you see yourself in one year?
Well I'm on my way, I don't know where I'm going. I'm on my way, taking my time, but I don't know when. Seeing me and Julio down by the schoolyard.

Everybody knows there's nothing doing, everything is closed, it's like a ruin. Everyone you see is half asleep, and you're on your own.

Nobody plans to be half a world away at times like these, so I sat alone and waited out the night. The best part of what has happened was the part I must have missed. So I'm asking you to shine it on and stick around. I'm not writing my goodbyes.

And it's beginning to get to me. That I know more of the stars and the sea than I do of what's in your head. Barely touching on our cold bed. I tried to tell you before I left, but I was screaming under my breath. You are the only thing that makes sense.

When I feel alive, I try to imagine a careless life. A scenic world where sunsets are all breathtaking.

I hurt myself today to see if I still feel. I focus on the pain, the only thing that's real. The needles tears a hole, the old familiar sting. Try to kill it all away, but I remember everything. What have I become, my sweetest friend? Everyone I know, goes away in the end. You could have it all...My empire of dirt.
