Holiday update

On Friday, I helped Wesley move out of his apartment. He and his roommate found that they had pidgeons living in the rafters of their atic. It was suggested by a doctor that they leave, as living there could cause respiratory problems.

On Saturday, we had the divine pleasure of having sushi in Japantown with Val and Devin.

While there, I picked up Namada Nishiki rice. I then ordered citric acid, koji kin (used to make kome koji, or malt rice), and sake yeast. All of these things will be used for the making of sake. The fermentation time is 2 weeks, so it should be done before Christmas.

Monday, I finally got to go to DG again, along the Sac crew. Wow, it's been too long.

On Tuesday, we watched Southpark Season 11. Mmm.... productive.

Wednesday, we found ourselves having lunch at Google with Jared. I want to work there even more now. The grounds are beautiful. There was a small airplane suspended from the ceiling in one building, a fountain outside, and many young bright people chating in the sunlight outside the cafes...

For Thanksgiving, we to Devin and Val's place for a misfit toys party. I cooked white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies, and brought chartreuse. Jenya, who's a bartender, made flaming absinth shots for everyone. The process: she adds a suger cube, and lights it on fire. You cover the flaming glass with your hand to extinguish the fire. Then you inhale the absinth vaber. Then you drink back the absinth. Oh yes, and we did the full turkey dinner thing. Thanks for cooking, and a great time. :D

It looks like they're offering the next fire poi class in Jan/Feb. Methinks I'll find myself in it. Eh, time to get more involved in life again.
