Weeell. Things have improved.
Chapter 34 of Betrayed is with my beta
riansage right now, though I want her to finish up her current chapter of her awesome KOTOR 1 fic before she gets to reading over mine because I'm sure I'm not the only one who is DYING FOR MORE of that story! ;)
I haven't started 35 yet, but I have it pretty much planned out so it shouldn't take too long. It will be the last chapter aside from the epilogue, I think. Unless it gets to running really, really long, then there will be two more chapters and the epilogue. Wow, hard to believe I'm that close to the end!!! :P
In other news, we've been getting some stuff ready for our annual Chiefs kickoff party this weekend (and wow am I soooo incredibly glad I have today off!) - and in doing that Jason needed the laptop pretty much all day yesterday. Well I was trying to force myself to write more of my novel anyway (I can only write original stuff in notebooks by hand, for some strange reason...), so I made myself sit down and work on it even though I really didn't feel like it. I'm so glad I did, because once I started it totally just came pouring out so easily, and now I haven't been able to stop! :P I'm almost finished with chapter 1, a huge step as before I just had a smattering of scattered notes on the thing. :D I've resurrected
cheetah_council if any of you members are reading this. If not, it's okay, I'm just using it as an archieve site for now. It's already interesting to see how much the story has changed since I first got the idea. Hee hee.
And one of the things that made me really want to work on my novel, aside from increasing numbers of family members asking when I'm going to publish something, of course, is that I've finally finished Deathly Hallows! :D I read the epilogue yesterday, so I'm officially finished now. It took me awhile, but overall I really enjoyed it! I think I liked it better before I read the epilogue, though. Heh. Oh well. I am actually sad there will be no more Harry Potter. I didn't think I would care much, but now that it's over, I do feel sad. I want more! ;) Perhaps I shall go find some good fanfiction!
Or, I guess I could just stick to writing my own story. :)
However, never fear TWTF fans! That is my next official project! And so far I'm right on schedule with being able to start it back up either late September or October. I will keep you posted. I've already had ideas circulating in my head for it, I've been listening to LOTR music to get me back in the mood, I'm going to rewatch the trilogy before I start writing AND I already having several scenes written that I did a long, long time ago. So it shouldn't be too difficult to get back into the swing of it. I just hope I can capture the mood and feel of LOTR again since I've been out of the fandom for so long. :S
As for horse news, I got to see my baby this past Friday night and he was adorable. He's getting very good at following me around with no halter or leadrope even when his friends are in the opposite direction. He only ignored me twice the other night, and if I poked him in the side to remind him I was there he would reluctantly turn and follow me again. Hee hee.
And then I got on him bareback and mom just led him around the pasture (we had no equipment with us and mom didn't have anyone to ride!) and by that time it was dark outside, so there I was just relaxing on my horse under the stars in the beautiful country listening to the frogs and the crickets... yah I really miss living outside of the city. :( Anyway it was great and I had an absolute BLAST! We decided then and there we had to go on a fall trail ride for sure! I miss riding sooo much!
Also mom took her yearling filly Grace to a show this weekend and she got 2nd overall and beat out THREE World Champions! One of which was apparently worth $100,000 - at least, though her owner turned down that offer, whether because they liked the horse too much or wanted more is unknown. But still, GO GRACIE!!! As soon as I get some current pics of her (you won't believe how much she's grown over the summer!) I'll post them and let you guys know! She goes to one more show in Salina, KS this next weekend, so we'll see how she does!
And that, I think, is that. Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend, I'm going to go think of something to do in this AWESOME weather! It's starting to cool off already! :D WOOT!
