(Note: I'm going to try to start importing my blogs from MySpace onto this journal again... it looks pretty lonely over here. Plus I have like... two readers on here that don't use MySpace. And I can't forget you guys!! =])
Why do I even read the State Journal-Register's letters to the editor anymore?
Quote one Tyler Henrikson of Cantrall (I almost edited your name out, but instead I thought I'd let the entire world know that you're an asshole):
"First of all, I am not the one who decides who is a true Christian and who isn't. That part is up to God. Instead, I go by the fruits that a person shows and many times that can give you a good idea of who is a true-professing Christian and who is a false-professing Christian."
This essentially says, "You know, it really isn't my place to decide who is a good Christian and who isn't. That's definitely God's job... But you know what? I'm going to try my damn hardest to try to judge for myself anyway!"
I started reading the SJ-R's Op-Ed section a little over a year ago when I found out that the future of the Adam's House was uncertain, and I felt the need to voice a concern. In the year that I've been following these letters though, I haven't seen a single thing change... For over a full year, every edition is chuck full of people repeating the same old mantras about abortion, the smoking ban, the left did this, the right did that...
As a frequent listener of the Molson and Lee Show, I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the personalities that they have given their listeners, and the SJ-R Op-Ed section reminds me of a listener of theirs that they have deemed "Crazy Abortion Guy." Crazy Abortion Guy calls the show daily, and will try to relate any topic (nomatter how far off) to abortion and its banishment (so I assume). And for some god knows how many times in a row, the hosts have hung up on this caller and dumped his feed. He doesn't say anything new, the hosts don't want to hear it, and more often than not they take delight in shutting him down (as I also take equal delight in listening to him get shut down).
I feel like everybody who writes to the SJ-R is Crazy Abortion Guy. I can't remember the last time I read the opinion page and didn't just hang up on it, and dump from my mind whatever it was I just read.
Dammit, Springfield...
