For all who are interested...

I'm going to break down my entire recital program by piece and movement as well as my comfort status. Here goes:

Church Sonatas - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), arr. Yona EttlingerAndante (98%)Allegro (95%)

This is the piece I'm most comfortable with at the moment. These two movements are from a set of four arranged by Ettlinger, which come from a total of seventeen Church Sonatas that were originally written for two violins and organ continuo as well as for full orchestra.

Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (The Shepherd on the Rock) - Franz Schubert (1797-1828)Andantino - Allegretto (97%)

Considering this piece has already been performed, it should be this high! Schubert wrote this piece shortly before his death. It has been hailed as one of his best pieces. Originally set only for piano and voice, Schubert decided to add what many critics consider an outstanding virtuoso clarinet part. The text indicates a subtle irony for Schubert's life, in that his final works show a youthful innocence and wonderment as opposed to a reflection of memories.

*** Intermission *** (150%)

Three Pieces (for Clarinet Solo) - Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971)I - Sempre p e molto tranquillo (100%)II - MM (eighth note = 168) (70%)III - MM (eighth note = 160)(85%)

This piece calls for both Clarinet in Bb (III) and Clarinet in A (I and II), though it's not strictly required (the movements are marked "Preferably Clarinet in A" or "Preferably Clarinet in Bb"). This is the piece I'm having the most trouble with right now, primarily because of the second movement.

Concerto No. 2 in Eb Major - Carl Maria von Weber (1786-1826)Allegro (90%)Romanze - Recitative (98%)Alla Polacca (90%)

Other than the damn sextuplet section, everything in this piece is recital ready! The first movement needs refining; the second needs maintenance; the third needs to be lit on fire. The third movement will need to be 130% for sure if nothing else - it is probably the movement I will be using for the two competitions I'll be performing in this semester!

That's all for now!
