So I'm a little stressed today. I had four classes and work. My classes seem tough this semester. After saying that, I feel like I should be doing work, not typing in live journal. I’m stressed though, and this is what usually calms me down. Here’s my nonacademic issue#1
While I was working at school for the week before it started (training and freshman orientation) I hung out with a group of girls for the week that I had a lot of fun with. There were about 4 of us. Two of them are older and live in other parts of campus so I don’t see them as much. Then there’s one who lives upstairs who I still hang out with, she’s really chill. Lastly, there’s Amber. Amber is the one I was closest to and hung out with the most during the week. At one point I even went back to her house with her (she was a commuter). I told Rob how much I liked hanging out with her. She had a long term boyfriend too and we could relate to one another really well.
That’s the good part. Since then she’s come to visit. Everyone hates her. My roommates can’t stand her. Rob HATES her and so do his roommates. It’s really bad. The first time she stayed the night, we were hanging out with the soccer guys across from across the hall. She left and stayed in one of their rooms for like, 4 hours. Keep in mind, she has a boyfriend of 3 ½ years. Everyone who knew her used to identify her as the girl who was always talking about her boyfriend. I felt guilty about her doing that, since I was the one who had her stay over/drank with her. I’ve realized that I shouldn’t care about that. Now, she’s broken up with her boyfriend and started hanging out with the soccer boy.
She also came last weekend for a night. I heard from her Saturday afternoon and we went to the soccer game with our friend Alyssa. Amber was going to stay the night at school and Alyssa was going to register her as an overnight guest. After we left the soccer game, Amber ditched Alyssa for the rest of the night. When I brought Amber up to meet Rob, I guess she said something about how clean the room was/asked if he and his roommate were gay. She also made a comment about how quiet he was. I didn’t think anything she said was that offensive, but it was enough to make Rob and his roommates hate her.
Since then, everyone’s decided they hate her. I don’t know what to do. I thought she was really cool at first. Since people pointed out her flaws, they’re all I can see. I keep telling myself its that when they see her she’s drunk, or that she’s changed since she dumped her boyfriend. I didn’t know what to do, but it was ok because I barely saw her since she was a commuter.
Now.. she’s moving on campus. No one is happy about it. Just the idea of it stresses me out. I’m just going to stop…
