A Really Good Music Meme

Nov 28, 2007 19:36

Got this from
seraphkre today and I really liked the idea, so here it goes!

List 7 songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good. But they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people, in absolute random order, to see what they're listening to.

1. Amos Lee - Arms of a Woman.

I love this song. It just has this amazing depth to it, and the singer is one of my newest discoveries, even though I've been hearing him on a local station for a little while now. All I can say is Thank the Maker for the KBCO New Music Sampler! If you haven't checked the guy out before, I highly recommend it

2. Marc Broussard - Home

Another great artist from the musical wonderland that is known as New Orleans. A fairly new artist from a long standing tradition of Lousiana

3. Rodrigo y Gabriela - Tamacun

Really... ANYTHING this duo does is perfection in my book. I usually listen to them at exceptionally high volumes, and they are even better in person.

4. Jon McLaughlin - Beautiful Disaster

I think I like the message in this one more than anything. And after watching the video I am even more convinced. And it's another KBCO New Music Sampler selection.

5. Melissa Etheridge - The Letting Go (Sorry, this was the only link I could find with the song in it... Just ignore the Sims Animation. :P)

I have had this song stamped on my soul. From the first moment I heard it on the album I was hooked, but what cinced it for me was hearing it performed live. HUGE ASS arena, with nothing but the artist, a piano, and a stage with a single beam of light, and it felt like I was sitting in the corner of the studio watching magic being created.

6. Van Morrison - Stranded (a live version)

You can slso listen for free at Rhapsody to the original studio recording (after downloading their player app)

This song reached in and stole my heart from the start. And then I listened to the rest of the album. PURE GOLD! It's Moondance all over again. Not a bad track in the lot.

7. Wynonna Judd... This is hard, because she has so many songs that I love... Here's a few, so sue me. :P

A Bad Goodbye (w/ Clint Black)
Only Love
When Love Starts Talkin'

Come Some Rainy Day
Peace in this House

Tagging... I normally hate tagging, so do it if you feel it. :D
