It's just one of those things, I guess.
I just got some really bad news today. My godsister is fighting for her life. She's battling a a rare condition which we have just learned is going to require a large scale & life altering surgical procedure. She had gone to John Hopkins in attempt to find an alternative treatment to this surgery, but the size & scope of her condition is beyond the parameters of those options.
She's never had an easy life, but she's always made the best of a bad situation & pushed through with a smile on her face & a song in her heart. In true fashion, she's taking the news in stride and trying to make everything work out as smoothly as possible. She is the single mother of two incredible boys and is trying to keep things together for them.
We don't know exactly what is in store for her, but we know it won't be easy. It's hard for me being so far away, but I know she has family close and a fantastic network of friends in her corner. The only thing I can really do is to listen, pray and keep her and the boys in my thoughts. And so that's what I do.
