jackhammers at quarter to eight, film at eleven

Shanghai gamer killed over virtual property dispute. This is even worse than the events depicted in the 2002 docu-drama, Rape at Animal Crossing.

Did another ten-hour day in the studio yesterday, eight of which I spent tracking guitar. I've got three of the eight songs done, including the most difficult, "Valentinnitus." We're heading in again on Saturday for another marathon session; I think I'll let other guitarist Sean take the reins on that one.

I read a study of education rankings done by Morgan Quitno Press that attempted to order the states from "Smartest to Dumbest." Massachusetts was #1, followed by Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, Wisconsin, New York, Minnesota, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Montana. Lotta blue there, no? New Mexico brought up the rear, with Nevada, Arizona, Mississippi, and Louisiana filling out the bottom five.

Tonight is the last Clickers show ever, at Great Scott with Piles, Tristan da Cunha, and Paper Thin Stages. Assuming I can get in (Clickers are a big draw, and it's a rare all-ages show there,) it should be a real hoot. Might duck out of work early to catch a matinee of "Hitchhiker's Guide" before that.
