Work this morning was slow, which was great due to my unexpected lassitude. Yet when I came back at 3:30 it was a zoo of laptops. I was quickly lured away from phones to look at problems by other consultants only to find each machine having a bad hard drive. I couldn't fix a thing and it really bugged me. Even better is that some new virus is going around and removing all of users music and picture files. What made it more interesting is that our file recovery tools either would not work due to key issues or they just wouldn't work off the hard drives we were trying to recover because of FS compatibility / corruption.
STUPID FRESHMAN
So while I am trying to do work I some dorm dweller begins to pester me with resnet questions. Specifically copyright ones. I tell him to check with ISO if he has any questions and I explained to him the policy that the University will only cooperate with companies but not police your connection. I TOLD HIM THE SAME THING 8 TIMES . He started to get more and more specific and beating around the bush about "how he only does it if he needs it for a project" which degraded into "i mostly download fansubs using bittorrent". I DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT YOU DOWNLOAD BUT DON'T TREAT ME LIKE A MORON. Stupid fucking freshman
On a less angry note: Cingular thinks I am a business customer and won't let me register for their site. [edit] fixed [/edit] I had the same problem when I tried to migrate to Cingular from AT&T earlier. Now I am on hold while they try to fix it on their ancient account software. The one good thing is I have speakerphone on the my new nokia; hold has never been so enjoyable. The new phone has been rocking although I seem to get "Network Busy" messages although I am sure that is a direct result of the large migration flood of customers that are now using Cingular. Hopefully it will work itself out.
