After talking with Xander for a while I decided I neede to get out of my flat. It was dark and cramped in there. Plus it now had the distinct odor of Brandy, thanks to Xander's remedy for nightmares. I on the other hand, was planning a different approach. I had a certain cleansing spell in mind. At first I had dismissed the idea of another spell, thinking that might bring on even more reprecussions, but then in my readings I came across a simple cleansing spell that does nothing more than cleans up any unpleasent after-effects of more powerful magicks. I thought it might be just what we needed to put a stop to our nightly visits with the first Slayer.
I climbed into my car and slowly pulled out onto the road, once again checking the short list of ingredients I would need. They weren't difficult things to obtain, I just happened to have run out of them in my own supply in recent months. I drove along in the bright California sunshine on my way to the Magic Box. It was the closest magic shop I could think of, plus the owner was a friendly old man who was always good for a chat.
I neared the store and pulled up to the curb. Something seemed different about the place. The display windows, they were set up differently. Curious I pushed open the door and a soft bell rang from the depths of the cozy shop. It wasn't just the windows that had been re-organized. It was the entire shop. I tried to think of the last time I had been in here. It had been quite some time. "Hello?" I called out, seeing no one.
I wandered deeper into the store and my eyes traveled the shelves. I approached bundles of sage and felt a cracking under my shoe. Glancing downwards, I noticed that the noise had been made by my stepping on a broken shard of glass on the floor. I picked it up off the ground and my eyes widened slightly as I noticed the spatters of blood along its edge.
"Oh dear."
