NIOU MASAHARU
Niou was the only member of his team who was in Johto when Yukimura arrived. As such, Yukimura's been very grateful to have him around. Perhaps surprisingly, Niou has helped Yukimura adjust and stay grounded after finding himself in a new world. Having Niou around reminds Yukimura that he is and remains a captain, and he's got to keep his head on straight.
Although Niou can certainly be a troublemaker, Yukimura generally finds it more amusing that anything else. He admires Niou's drive and tricky thought processes, and he finds it incredibly entertaining to watch Niou pull one over on other people - but not so much when it's himself.

YAGYUU HIROSHI
As he is Rikkai's newest addition to the wonderful world of Pokemon battles, Yukimura is enjoying Yagyuu's arrival, particularly seeing the strangeness of Johto all over again through a new set of eyes. Also, with every team member who arrives, Yukimura is just a tiny bit happier.
Yukimura could be happy to have a saner member of his team here - but it's Yagyuu, and Yukimura knows there is much more to him than what seems to be there at first glance. For now, he'll simply enjoy having Yagyuu around, and wait to see what sort of trouble he ends up cooking up with Niou. Just like home.

KIRIHARA AKAYA
Yukimura is very proud of Akaya, and of the progress Akaya has made. No matter how much of a hardass Yukimura is when it comes to training, he's still impressed by how far Akaya has come in the time they've known each other and how determined he can be. In a way, Yukimura thinks of Akaya as his protege - he's put a lot of time into trying to help him reach his full potential.
Outside of tennis, Yukimura thinks Akaya is pretty adorable. He does like to tease him from time to time, because who doesn't? Also, Akaya is kind of fail and it's funny, and Yukimura is not a good enough person to not be amused by that.

FUJI SHUUSUKE
Fuji is fun. He has a wicked sense of humor and an interesting way of looking at the world, and of all the non-Rikkai people in Johto, Yukimura is probably friendliest with him. There's a certain similarity to the way they act on the surface, but Yukimura is realizing that below the surface he and Fuji are very different.
Fuji lacks the drive that Yukimura has so much of. Fuji has boundless potential, and he doesn't seem particularly interested in unlocking it, which for someone like Yukimura is very frustrating. Yukimura has to remind himself that he is not Fuji's captain, it's not his responsibility to make Fuji get serious.
★ ♧
OSHITARI YUUSHI
Yukimura doesn't know Oshitari that well yet, and what he does know is mostly what he's seen on the courts and his reputation on the tennis circuit. He thinks Oshitari is a good but not great tennis player, and he wants to play him to find out whether that's true or not.
Off the court... well, he's not sure what to think yet. Oshitari's been pleasant every time they talked, but he also got in an altercation with Niou that could only have come from him badmouthing Rikkai in some way. For the moment, Yukimura is reserving his judgment until he knows Oshitari better.
★ ♧
SHIRAISHI KURANOSUKE
Despite not knowing Shiraishi that well either, Yukimura feels like they must have things in common since they're both captains - although from what he's seen of Shitenhouji, it's obvious that Shiraishi has a very different captaining style than Yukimura does. Yukimura also wants to play him and see this supposed 'perfect' tennis.
From the times they've talked, Yukimura thinks that Shiraishi seems like a nice person, but... well, Shiraishi also seems like a bit of a space cadet. Not that that isn't funny.
★ ♧
ECHIZEN RYOMA
Oh, Echizen. Quite honestly, Yukimura isn't sure what to think of him. Echizen Ryoma is certainly a true genius when it comes to tennis, but he seems to be more than a little bit socially awkward - okay, he's kind of a brat. But that tennis!
Yukimura is still somewhat haunted by his loss to Echizen at Nationals, and frankly a bit confused as to why, exactly, he lost. His conversations with the boy in Johto so far have only served to confuse him more, but Yukimura is certain that if he tries he can learn something from Echizen. Maybe. Probably.
♡ ♧
KUJIKAWA RISE
Yukimura is impressed by Rise, particularly because she's obviously not afraid of hard work, and she's willing to give it her all. For Yukimura, that goes a long way. He's very pleased that she's learning tennis, and he fully intends to make sure she's as good at it as she can be.
Outside of tennis, he thinks she's a lot of fun and surprisingly insightful. Obviously they aren't really interested in the same things (what are pop idols), but she's really dedicated to her work, and Yukimura isn't going to put down anything that she loves just because he doesn't understand it. He considers Rise one of his first non-tennis friends in Johto.
♧
TED
Yukimura is interested in the secrets that Ted is obviously keeping, but he isn't going to force Ted to tell him - he's hoping they'll eventually get to the point where Ted feels comfortable enough to be honest. Yukimura is used to having people do what he wants, and Ted... doesn't really, which is a little frustrating but also somewhat refreshing.
Yukimura doesn't entirely trust Ted, but he does like him. He views Ted as a challenge, and Yukimura likes challenges. He fully plans to teach Ted tennis eventually, and then everything will make sense, because tennis is magical.
