as I ate two nectarines this morning, i held two very rapt attentions. salinger and madeline, both sitting bolt upright, watching each piece as i cut it from the fruit. silly little monkeys. (i had real trouble spelling the plural of monkey)

so the birthday is over. thanks to any and all for birthday wishes. it is much appreciated. ps. steph, you made my day yesterday.
