Let's all drink to being freedom-bound.
Started reading Kafka this week: I suppose it can't be helped. I'm back to my french bread diet again, and I will be until my folks get here next week. A big fat juicy thank you to my friends who reached out to offer me food in my moment of need recently; it was very touching. E & I are going out for pizza tonight (gorgonzola & green apple!) in honor of six cool months, and that will probably be the last decent thing I eat until next Monday.
Graduation, clearing out the dorms, moving, finding employment, and all that rot. I've got a suite of papers to write for this week and next, on subjects varying between prison sex, the mormons, the "neolithic revolution," and the permanence of prehistoric settlements found on the abandoned island of Nihoa. Big Hawaiian speech this week, too. My head is everywhere.
And yeah, I'm a little nervous, man. I like the idea of breaking free from my cushy little hovel and all, but there's going to be some serious discomfort coming my way quite soon. I don't relish it, but I guess these are the dues to pay for living rock and roll. I'm a rocker 'til the day I die.
Observations:
-Two weeks to graduation.
-Three weeks to departure.
-One month to New Hampshire.
-Gimme five.
Mahalo.
