Summary: “You know what,” Jake whispered as he stared at the door. “If we make it out of this I’d be damned proud to try the whole mate thing...with you.”
Carlos nodded. “Me too,” he agreed and this time the silence that settled didn’t feel as heavy, not with someone else shouldering the burden.
