I went to the Tulip Festival yesterday! Or, well, two days ago now. Ah~ It was so much fun. It's getting a little annoying to explain that yes, it was more than just looking at Tulips. ...I might have gone anyway though. Oh my god, they were so pretty. And I had a banana chocolate crepe and it was quite possibly the most delicious thing I've ever eaten ever.
That and it was a big art festival! It was so much fun. All of the artists were so talented. There was someone selling glass hot air balloons for under ten dollars, and I wanted one so bad, but I was afraid it was going to break on the bus, so I didn't get one. :( and ahahaha someone was selling a gourmet cocoa mix they made, and I almost bought it, but I was like "I am not paying eight dollars for a little tiny bag of cocoa."
And there was a guy who did Bonsai! And I met the woman from Larkfest whose hand lotion table was falling over from the wind and she remembered me helping her! I got another little bottle of her green tea lotion, because it's really good. ♥ And I got myself some fudge (Chocolate cheesecake +o+) and bought my mom mother's day and birthday stuff. I bought a few other things too~ And I chatted up a woman on the artist's path who lived in Albany for like ten years and she was really nice. I bought some of her greeting cards, cause I really did like her photography, and she was the only one on the artist's path that had reasonably priced things. ...Well except the guy with little colorful sculptures of hands that were personalized. I almost got my mom one, but he didn't have any Peace signs in J and the only J ones he had looked weird. D:
And I found a little pond in the middle of the park it was in, and I found a colorful metal horse that was really a jungle gym. There was also a vendor in a little car shaped like an apple. Surprisingly, they were only selling lemonade and fried oreos. And next door to that there was a woman selling FRIED. PICKLES. WHY. And there were like five booths for something called Gyros. ...What is a gyro? I was looking at the display ones at some booths and they looked...difficult. Like they would fight back. How do you go about eating that?
Then I sat with some older women for lunch because there were no tables left and we all kind of got there at the same time. They had brought sandwiches with them and I had a suspiciously large "small" fry, but I got to listen to them talk about the boy on American Idol with dreadlocks who was voted off last week, and share egg salad recipes, while we listened to a boy not much older than me play his guitar and sing about Kate and how he wanted her to feel joy, joy all the time, joy all the time.
On my way out, I bought a strawberry smoothie for more than I should have. But I got to keep the funky purple cup it was served in! It can be reused. And then I left, and took the ridiculously long bus ride back to the school, and I saw Ueki...I think I forgot his real name, but he's someone in my Japanese class this year (We all got Japanese names - Mine was Uehara). We chitchatted a bit, and I forgot to ask what Japanese class he's in next year, but it doesn't really matter because he's probably in that morning class everyone else is in. :/
Mm...I should probably go to bed. But Katie's on skype and I know that eventually the pain in my arm will go away (I fell down outside a couple of hours ago coming back from Melissa's. Owww. Scraped up my elbow good.) and it would require clearing off my bed. And I'm like, ravenously hungry. But I am so sick of ramen. D| Which leaves soup, spaghettios, or ravoli. All of which require going downstairs to use that disgusting microwave and I'm sore from falling down. So I think I'll pass.
FOR ALL WHO MADE IT THIS FAR, CONGRATS.
