oh. my. god.
my mom's birthday was yesterday.
(as those of you who read my entries would know)
and we still have the baby bird.
(i know, yo're thinking "what does the baby bird have to do with that?" well let me tell you. it has everything to do with it.)
i woke up and everyone was already awake, and i took Misty outside.
well, i heard this frantic chirping (not just the baby bird's chirping) on the other side of the house.
so i went over and looked.
a black racer (snake) was trying to eat the baby bird!
and the mother and father and a few other birds, i'm assuming, were attacking the snake.
so i went in, told my parents, and then (after freaking out) my dad tried to get the snake away from Fluffy. (the bird)
he did, but Fluffy was stuck in a crack and the snake was also in the crack.
so i freaked out some more (i thought i was gonna have a heart attack and die) while my dad scared the snake out of the crack.
then we had to get Fluffy out of the crack.
luckily all we had to do was pull a few stones away from it and back away and it ran off into our backyard.
once we could see it better i thought to myself "i don't remember Fluffy having spots on his body", but i really didn't care at the moment.
all i cared about was the fact that we saved it.
and i kinda forgot about it after a little while.
anyways, it was running around the yard and we thought (key word there, guys) that it got out under the fence.
so we left it alone so its mom could feed it.
and after its adventures, i changed its name to Lucky.
(i wonder why.......lol)
a few hours later we went in the pool.
while in the pool, we saw Lucky on the other side of the yard, still inside the fence.
my dad and i both thought it looked a little bigger than it was a few hours before.
and then my dad saw the snake again.
so we freaked out some more (actually, i did the freaking out) and my dad scared the snake away again, and Lucky's mom dive-bombed the snake as it slithered away.
and this whole time we thought it was one bird.
the one that was in the front of our house.
BUT we realized that it was two different birds that we saved.
so the one was Lucky, and the other one we named Nate.
as in "For-tu-Nate".
lol
and THEN i took Misty outside again and i heard chirping near the corner of our house.
so i went and looked...........
and there was the original Fluffy.
so we saved two baby birds yesterday that we didn't even know existed in our yard.
and now we have three baby birds to keep track of.
and a snake to keep away from the birds.
after the bird incidents we got ready to go to dinner.
Misty ran into the room and laid down on the floor.
then she started like, i dunno, going into convulsions or something.
so i freaked out even more and we calmed her down and then she was fine.
i think what happened was she ran through the pile of Legos that was on the floor and one jabbed into her paw the wrong way and it hurt her so she freaked out.
(those Legos hurt when you step on them. pretty badly, too!)
then we went to Sonny's for dinner and i had a rack of ribs.
i thought i was gonna explode, i was so full!
then we went to the mall and spent an hour in the Disney store.
(my dad has to look at everything)
by then it was 9:00, so the mall was closing.
so we left and went to Dairy Queen cuz my mom didn't want a cake.
it was really good.
as usual. ^_^
so in the end it turned out to be a stressful, yet good day.
and the baby birds are happy.
lol
