i haven't been able to stop listening to this piece.
it's the last one he wrote, on his death bed, and it encompasses so many conflicting emotions. it's really touching and disturbing and enlightening all at once to experience the feelings that he was experiencing in the face of death.
in first part of the piece he seems to feel overwhelmed, fearful, and extremely defiant. (it's said that he died shaking his fist at the sky) but then there's a moment where he seems to accept his fate and kind of goes off into this hysterical, dance-like, skippy section. as if he's saying "yeah, that's the way it is! i'm going to die! woohoo!"
it's kind of scary, but fucking beautiful at the same time. go listen to it right now. i command you.
