Not your fault, and it's unfair to suggest that. Each of us does the best we can with the tools (and body) we were given, and our best isn't always the most effective. There are things we learn along the way. I'm not saying these scenes can always be avoided, but I think sometimes they can. And that doesn't make it your fault -- because it is WRONG that we should have to avoid interaction with people because of the possibility of anything happening, but that's pretty much what I do.
Point being, I too have experienced unwanted contact in the past, many times. It doesn't happen anymore. I thought it was odd until I realized that I've changed. Not that I'm less attractive, but that I don't go places where that sort of thing might happen, I wear clothes that downplay my sexuality, and I tend to not make eye contact with strangers and make it obvious I'm not to be even looked at, and if non-strangers touch me in a way I am not comfortable with, I make them strangers INSTANTLY. It's easier to do this when you don't care to meet possible mates -- it seems as though advertising that you're interested in dating is often misread as advertising that you're interested in being harassed. Whatever. I avoid it altogether.
Does that mean "they" won? Yeah, probably. But I guess I'd rather be safe than win.
