we officially moved out of our house this previous weekend. im heartbroken. leaving for school was so surreal - i walked through every room to get a good glimpse and then got in the car to drive away. i felt like i would be coming back but i knew i wouldnt. im aware it's just a house, and most people take these kind of things with more grace and privacy, but where i live is part of who i am, and i dont feel like i should pretend im optimistic about leaving behind such a huge part of my identity.

we stole the Milchling Drive sign on christmas eve, and they replaced it with one that was misspelled. ree and i started a tradition where every christmas eve we will alternate who keeps the sign.

coming back to school was great. we rearranged our room and now its so homey. i love my roomate and the girls on my floor each have something special about them that i love. we are getting closer each day- not to mention both nights we went out were some of the funnest ive had, contrary to the evil day following last saturday.

unlike last semester, im actually trying. i am being punctual and efficient, and truly enjoying most of my classes. it gives me a good hope that my grades may actually be a reflection of my "true potential," in a sad attempt at being cliche.

the food here tastes like dog shit still, not to mention its making ME shit still. but having friends to go with overrides its inability to satisfy my appetite.

i dont feel like myself- most likely because all of the things i use to identify myself have changed. but since im in the process of being different, perhaps i will end the whining...thats always been something ive been good at.

katie told me a story today about one of the librarians- fucking hilarious. i miss the library and all its craziness.
