Because a meme (although really I doubt that's the proper term for these anymore... random survey, maybe?) is as good a way to relax for 5 minutes as any. Fun side note: I became an amateur plumber today! Having a wife starting up a care home is like getting your own house, only without all that annoying equity crap. For now though:
Did you marry someone from your high school? Oh lord no. There were nice girls and smart girls and girls who were both but just totally wrong for me, but none of them I would have married. Of course, I wouldn't have married my high school self either, so I suppose I should cut them some slack.
Did you carpool? Nah, wasn't nearly social enough to want to, and going to a private school meant no one lived nearby.
What kind of car did you have? My lovely white Honda Civic hatchback... my dad still drives that thing. Gets great gas milage.
What kind of car do you have now? A green Honda Civic sedan - yay change!
Friday night in high school...where are you? Playing video games... by myself. Maybe heading to the occasional quiet get-together with friends my senior year.
Now it's Friday night in the present...where are you? Thanking god I can go to bed early and sleep in? Or maybe seeing my wife for the first time all week.
What do you do now? Technical demos and training on our sweet software.
Were you a party animal in high school? Umm... I may have seen an animal at one of the handfuls of parties I attended. Probably not though.
Were you considered a flirt? Lol.
Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Nah. A bit of drama though.
Can you sing the fight song? I don't know if we even had one... maybe the basketball team knew.
Who was/were your favorite teacher(s)? Now or then? I liked Mrs. Roberts and Mr. Chapis then. Now I'd add Mr. Roberts (no relation) to the list. Oh, and Ms. Moran and Mr. Flood were cool... damn, I was pretty lucky in high school teachers... mostly.
Where did you sit during lunch? At the mostly male table from my class... hey, there were 21 kids total, doesn't leave a whole lot of room for cliqueage.
What was your school's full name? Blanchet Senior High School.
When did you graduate? 2000
What was your school mascot? Cavaliers. Yeah, we all thought it was kind of... I think 'gay' was the term we used.
If you could go back and do it again, would you? Hmmm... probably, knowing what I know now. Mind you, it wasn't that great and I'm happy where I've ended up so far, but I think I could reproduce all the important steps, and think of all the cool stuff I could do with 8 extra years of foreknowledge under my belt. Although I may be morally required to spend my time doing things like preventing 9/11.
What do you remember most about graduation? Barely anything, so I suppose reading a craptastic valedictorian speech is the biggest. Good grades does not equal good speaking ability. One of the salutatorians would have been better.
Who did you take to your senior prom? Tricia. That was one hell of an awkward night, and i wish I could say that was her fault.
Do you still talk to the person you went to prom with? No... and that's one of the things I still fear about going to graduation. I still dread having to apologize for being that much of an ass.
What were your school colors? Blue and... silver or gray. I could never tell.
Are you planning on going to your 50 year reunion? We won't have one... much too small of a class and we all spread out after graduation. They might try to invite us back as part of a larger reunion, but I doubt it would be terribly fun unless a few of the folks I really liked went.
