Time for the big weekend
So Heather and I planned to go down to Washington for my cousin's wedding this weekend. Unfortunately, my grandmother - who's had Alzheimer's for 13 years and been incommunicado and bedridden in hospice for the last 5 - took a turn for the worse and died early on the morning of November 1st. Her funeral is tomorrow morning, but my wife works tonight until 11, and due the the nature of her job, there's really no way out of it since no one will cover, so we're heading out at 4am tomorrow... it's going to be a long weekend. Then, I need to go into work Monday and Tuesday, but as the road is still closed, that means water taxi... leave for work at 5:30am and get home at 7:30pm. Unless, of course, the wind picks up in the late morning like it did today. Then there's no getting back. Yeah, we'll see how that works. And we may be moving to Kelowna on the 15th. It's shaping up to be a busy month.
