On Foreign Policy Experience

Sep 21, 2008 19:48

So I realized the other night that I have something in common with our newest vice presidential candidate, Mrs. Sarah Palin: foreign policy experience. I don't mean the 3 years I've lived in foreign countries; as a registered Democrat that probably makes me a pinko commie anyway. No, I mean that for two years of my life, I lived in a province where from which it was possible to see Russia! With that in mind, so the rest of you can get a feel for the vice presidential candidate to the man who would be the oldest President in history will think, I present you with the knowledge I have gained in this regard:

1) Russia is hazy and faintly bluish. If it is inhabited, one would need some sort of optical enhancement device to witness it.
2) On cloudy days, Russia is invisible.
3) Russian sailors are generally more interested in having a good time and making/spending money when they're ashore, and thus not beloved of the local populace.
4) Ummm... well, there's lots more but I'll leave you time to digest those for now.
