Mesa Vista - My BaCC for fun: Week 4, Part 11 - Gainsborough

Sep 22, 2013 10:49

Here's a quick little update, under 20 pics. Hallelujah!

Next up is another CAS household I added in Week 4.

This is Nora Gainsborough, created by fanseelamb at MTS. I don't watch True Blood so I don't know her character at all, but after seeing the Sim, I really wanted her in my game. Her personality is 4/8/7/3/3 (Aries) with a Romance aspiration.

She currently resides in the Starving Artist Loft by eedgan at MTS. (And if this uber cool structure isn't Apocalypse-compliant, it's darn close, except for the 1x1 lot size.)

Zach Adams obviously took his role as manipulator founder seriously and once again made a point of grilling welcoming another newcomer.
"I like your place."
"Thanks, I like it too. Is there anything I should know about Mesa Vista?"
"Well, it's set up for those with an entrepreneurial spirit, so the opportunity to run your own business is the main draw."
"It isn't cheap to start a business. Why would someone with working capital want to start theirs in, no offense, the middle of nowhere?"
"That's just it, people who settle here don't need a lot of cash to start their businesses. I suppose you could also say we're somewhat of a mining town."

"Of course," Zach went on, "owning a business isn't a requirement to live here. In fact, I always suggest checking with the Military Base if you want decent steady income right away."
"Not interested, I'm looking to become a Rock God."
"... Hmm, I don't want to rain on your parade, but that's quite a lofty aspiration for these parts."
"Oh really?"
"Unless you're planning to fly solo? Otherwise, I can't see your fellow musicians exactly flocking here when we don't even have a venue for them to get together at."
"We'll see about that."

"Mining town, eh?"

After digging for most of the week, interspersed with fruitless job searches for an opening in the Music career, Nora was finally able to afford her new business which she named, in honor of Zach's "lofty aspiration" comment, the Local Yokels Dance Hall.

Nora looked around her new music venue, which was in essence going to be the town's first real "hot spot," and then tried to picture other rock musicians far, far away from Mesa Vista gathering there.
"Maybe I went a little overboard."

She decided against a guitar altogether, knowing none she bought could match the Rock Hammer she had every intention of acquiring one day...

"Is this place yours?"
"However did you guess?"
"You're new, the place is new... I like to play, by the way. Mind if I try something out?"
"I want to make sure everything is in tune before I open. Could you test the piano?"

Nora moved on to the violin, not her first instrument of choice as it soon became apparent.
"I can't tell if this is in tune," she admitted.
"Trade ya," Troy said in response, and Nora readily agreed.

"You're no slouch on that violin. What's your name?"
"Troy Sartor."
"Nora Gainsborough."

Everything appeared to be in working order, and Nora's excitement began to grow. Getting the dance hall was a big hurdle out of the way, and someone was already showing a pretty keen interest before it had even opened.

"Okay, skootch. That's enough for today."
"Are you sure? I don't mind..."
"Look, I've been digging all week, and I'm exhausted. I really need to get some rest."
"Very well," he sighed, disappointment obvious in his voice.
"Can I have your number? I'd like you to be at the grand opening."
"Here you go. Let me know when, and I'll be there."
"Great, thanks!"

Back at her loft with less than an hour before her week was up, Nora checked the job listings one final time.
"Eureka!" she grinned before climbing the stairs and collapsing on her bed in an exhausted and satisfied slumber.

All right, that's it for Nora Gainsborough - short and sweet.

BACC quick stats:
