Mesa Vista Week 6-10: Deppiesse
This is the last catch-up update I have so far for Week 6, which has been years in the making. Arrrgh.
Welcome back to Mesa Vista and Talin Deppiesse's round in Week 6. Talin got engaged to Kerie Ng in Week 5, but with Kerie focused on keeping her teenage son Noah in line, and Talin having no real purpose at this stage beyond becoming a Business Tycoon, neither apparently were in a rush to tie the knot.
Why a silly bathtub picture, you may ask? Well, on one hand Talin was a pivotal part of this update, and on the other, not much really happened with him.
But to start...
Talin began the week very close to his final promotion to Business Tycoon. A few more skills...
and a tryst with Kerie...
and BOOM! Easy-peasy Business Tycoon, giving Mesa Vista its 7th Business District!
"Now what?"
Talin had stopped rolling wants to see ghosts, so instead of a cemetery visit, he went to The Dugout for a round of pool.
"Excuse me. You wouldn't happen to know where Talin Deppiesse lives?"
"It so happens I do," said Kerie Ng. "Why, if I may ask?"
"I'm his father. I want to surprise him."
"His father? Surprise him? I'm pretty sure he'll be suprised."
"Oh? Why?"
"Well, I am his fiancee', and he's never mentioned you."
"Really?"
"Not once."
"Oh."
Talin did a double-take when he saw two old men grumbling at the dart board.
Nah, couldn't be...
"Nice shot. How about a hug for your old man?"
"Holy..."
"Talk of out of the blue, Dad! What brings you to Mesa Vista?"
"Well... to be honest, I'm at a loose end."
"Are you visiting or staying? Either way, you can stay with me."
"What about your fiancee'?"
"Kerie? She won't mind."
Meet Makoto St. Julien, Talin's "dad"!

"That silly job was one of the reasons I wanted a change. Do you think I can make use of my gold styling badge here?"
A more debonair Makoto St. Julien got on the phone and made some business inquiries.
He struck the jackpot with Manly Manes Barbershop, which at a price of §11000 was perfect for him!

"Manly Manes! Great name, this place is the bomb!"
No, Chrysann Planter was not getting a makeover!
And Jace really didn't need one either, but whatever.
"Oops."
"Manly? You call this manly?!"
"I...I...I must be rusty."
"Hmmph."
I didn't even bother to learn the name of this yo-yo.
On the plus side, he was a lot happier with his paint job.
The vast majority of Makoto's customers were people I had no desire to makeover *grrr*
Okay, give Armando more scruff...
Aaron Wing was perfect as-is, but Makoto found a more luxurious mustache for him. Good job!
Brittany Wendland, Ringo's wife, was already perfect too *sigh*
So, she got a manicure.

Oh, okay, Chrysann can have one too.
Just a little tweak of her contours, she's another one adorable as-is.
Makoto went home after Manly Manes got to Rank 1. I thought the grand opening went surprisingly well, considering Makoto's elder status.
While Talin was at work (gotta pay those taxes), Makoto chatted up a lovely walk-by, Carla Johnson.
"Okay, you two."
Ahem! Like Talin had room to talk...
Still, it seemed time for Makoto to get his own place.
He went to Esmeralda Apartments like Adrienne Kerrigan before him. We'll see if he stays there longer than she did. With Carla Johnson in his life, it could go either way.
"Yeah, gettin' my barbershop off the ground."
"Hmph. Kind of plain for $1375 a week."
But what choice did he have? Esmeralda was the only complex in town.
Makoto had proven he was a lemonade-from-lemons kind of guy, though.
He managed to make a pretty nice bachelor pad out of the place.
That ends the apartment tour and this update! Lots of progress on the score this time!
