1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate generally. Just 'cause, well, its chocolate!! I must add, however, that last Christmas I discovered the egg nog made by a local organic dairy and I'm greatly anticipating its return. It's the best nog I've ever had.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Wraps, most definitely. Usually with excessive amounts of tape.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or clear?
Tiny multi-colored inside this year. haven't decided if I'm going to do anything outside.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
yes and no. I hang this little plastic sprig. Can't have the real stuff with the kitties around. If you hang it high enough no one can tell the difference and you still get the smooches!!

5. When do you put your decorations up?
Usually the weekend after thanksgiving. I've been kind of half assed about it this year though. Wreath is on the door. Tree is up, but still not decorated. Gonna try and get that done this weekend.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
I'm a sucker for the traditional turkey dinner.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child:
I can't think of any one particular memory. I think the level of family dysfunction was always too high for any of the good stuff to really stick.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
Catching my Dad putting my sister's bike together when I was about 7. The next morning when the tag on the bike said "from Santa", I realized it was all a scam. I was crushed.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Yes!

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?:
Dread. Absolutely, positively dread it.

12. Can you ice skate?
No, but I excel at sliding around the ice on my ass.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
I couldn't possibly pick one. There are so many, all different forms, that mean so much to me for so many different reasons. I don't even know how to narrow it down!

14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
I'm stealing this answer from the brilliant starshine24mc ,because I can't say it any better:
"Friends and family, and the good holiday spirit that seems to come about no matter how jaded, cynical, commercial or dangerous the world can seem to be. Christmas makes it all better, even if just for a day."

15. What is your favorite Holiday dessert?
These German gingerbread cookies called "lebkuken" (sp?). Especially the ones that are covered in dark chocolate. It's a total nostalgia thing. I had a great uncle in Switzerland that used to send us these giant tins of the things every christmas. I think it was the highlight of every christmas when I was a kid. I still go absolutely nuts for them.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
See number 15

17. What tops your tree?
nothing at the moment

18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?
Giving! Most definitely, giving!

19. What is ur favorite Christmas Song?
Again, too many to list. Christmas is Near by Ralph Stanley, Bah-Humbug by Tim O'brien, The snow miser song from Year without a Santa Claus, Blue Christmas Lights by Buck Owens, Merry Christmas from the Family by Robert Earl Keene, Oh Come all ye faithful by just about anybody, and any carol sung by Mahalia Jackson or Nat King Cole.
