Poking my head up hello
Been a while I see. I came to LJ tonight to look for an old post from 2009 to show to somebody. Found it.
I see I haven't posted in a while. Been productively busy so haven't really been LJ chatty.
It my 23yrs now teaching.
I am mentoring as well.
Been giving presentations on technology and teaching the deaf including iPad uses and the advantages of mobile devices in teaching our kids.
What else???
This past August marked 18yrs Dov and I been married.
And I think 27yrs been together last May.
Been a busy long year.
Hannukah good.
Gave nephew an air hockey set.
Gave niece a large 60th anniversary edition Madeline doll blue velvet dress and all.
Gave my sis and brother-inlaw gift cars for apps for their new iPads.
Gave mom gift card for amazon to get books for her kindle.
Gave dad gift card for Bass Pro Shoppe for the boat items etc.
Sis and brother-inlaw gave me a $15 gift card to starbucks.
They also gave me a $100 gift card to the APPLE store for all my tech needs and loves based on my current works.
I also got a $50 starbucks card from my mentee (can we tell I am a starbucks freak?)
I gave her an apps gift card for HER new iPad which I have been teaching her how to use in teaching.
What else?
I have a new macbook pro after much sillyness of apple CRUSHING my much loved well pristene not even a scratch as noted in their own documents, cared for old one during a repair job. Long story. Short of it is I started with a May 2008 15" anti-glare display, just before unibody/all silver keys and due to their stupidities and Dov working his ass off on phone with them I now have the absolute current model 15" macbook pro unibody with ainti-glare display. Not the way I wanted to get an 'upgrade' but here I am with one. Although sounds abismal to say I am still sad and miss my old machine but will get used to and appreciate my machine more each day as time moves on.
That is Hannukah present enough from the husband considering it took a month plus to get the whole mess straightened out.
Between the mac, my iPad2, and my iPhone 5...I am as current as it gets. It also makes total sense as my presentations continue to happen and I expand on capabilities using all equiptment. Texting and video vital to working with the deaf so if you are one of those who thinks cellphones shouldn't exist then you are not thinking all the people out there who NEED this new accessable technology.
NO I am not in need of the more current iPad. There absolutely NO difference between it and the new one. Retina screen and 4G vs 3G is just eyecandy.
As to other stuff,
Been sick alot this school year but not from the epilepsy per say.
Colds ongoing, sinus infections ongoing...weakens the system but I am holding strong.
An excellent clean bill of health from neuro this past september.
The really different thing I suppose besides weight gain again due to current medication changes these days is my hair.
A little grayer.
Medicine also finally taking its toll as well as age maybe.
But medicines absolutely.
Finer. Maybe thinner.
Not sure.
But definitely no longer the huge mane I used to have.
Oh well.
But not noticable outright.
Just to the family.
But for 48 I still look DAMN GOOD ;P
