Just finished watching Primeval S2 for the first time.
OH. MY. GOD.
That pretty much sums up my reaction.
Jenny - OMG! Seriously!! Nooooooo! I want Claudia back! Now! Jenny took until about the last 20 min of the season for me to almost like her.
Helen - OMG needs to DIAFF right now. So very much!
Steven - OMG every time he didn't tell the gang about Helen being there I yelled so hard at the screen. And then he totally believed Helen and not Nick and I might have cried.
Cleaner!Soldier - when he disappeared in the bowling ally, I texted
kyizi and told her that he was going to be important!! I was ever so ecstatic when Connor and Nick actually compared notes (see Non-Communication below) and figured out that there was something hinky. And oh god I was over the moon when he died on Tatooine.
Taylor - Oh god, I want this series to run long enough that she grows up enough to come and work at ARC.
ARC - very cool, but I'd totally sacrifice it for Claudia back.
S2 - This is worse than watching Moebius, because at least then you could pretend that SG1 was still SG1, but this team was different. They totally by-passed it, but Nick and the rest of the gang essentially have two different versions of reality/past and the version that each remembers is not the same as what the other lived and this makes the strangers and makes me want to cry when I think about!!
Non-communication As A Plot Device - Any plot which relies on two (or more characters) not talking to each / sharing information (ie What Happened In S2) DRIVES ME COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY ROUND THE TWIST. I get that not everyone is going to spill their innermost secrets, but god, how much of the crap wouldn't have happened if Steven and Nick especially, but the others too, HAD JUST TALKED TO EACH OTHER!!!
The finale - OH MY GOD I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THEY DID THAT!!! THEY KILLED STEVEN!!!!!!!! My only consolation is that he died knowing the truth.
Cleaner!Soldier: The Finale Version - OMG!!! Seriously??!!!! He died on Tatooine. I thought I was rid of him.
S3 guess - This is going to be all about Time Travel, isn't it? <- Rhetorical Question. No spoilers, please. I foresee every goddammed episode resetting as Helen tries for a future she likes and The Gang try to preserve it/clear up the aftermath.
I'm sure I had more, but the finale has wiped me of all coherence. Oh, except to say...
Holy mother of god, TPTB need to stop being 12 year old boys. This season was all Cleavage! Sexy Women! And they were not at all subtle about it! *was not impressed*
ETA: I... erm.. may have abused capslock. Sorry!
