Family Stress
So my step dad's health has taken a severe turn for the worse.
Late last month he had some pain, and investigation revealed an abdominal aortic aneurysm. He was scheduled for surgery, but failed his stress test and they found a heart condition that has to be fixed before they can deal with the aneurysm. If the Aneurysm bursts, his chances of survival are tiny. Its a time bomb. So they need to fix the heart issue (the left ventricle is not pumping at normal speed and they may need to do a cath) before they can even touch the aneurysm. Its a dangerous one two punch, and I am worried for him (who has done a better job of being a father in the last 5 years than my day did in 25), and for my mom, who loves him very much.
I'm going to try to go back to ohio in the next few weeks. I never did get a chance to say goodbye to my dad (I was, point in fact, across the country on business when he died), and I don't want to have the same happen here.
