I'm supposed to write an article review, which makes this the perfect time to go LJ. I've been busy again, but this time in a good way. Organ world is fun, lots of new friends, car rides to AGO freak shows, happy hours, that sort of thing. Christina's teaching me figured bass, and I actually spent over 2 hours at the harpsichord today. Christina acknowledged this unprecedented event by making faces at me through the window. Don't worry, I dish it right back. I played the "Wedge" at studio (wild and crazy Bach fugue), Kimberly said it was good, works for me. We decided to drop all the Gabrieli crap from my program and learn a Vivaldi concerto -- fast. Oh, and there's improv class. Ooops...forgot to practice...again...
eric_tyson stopped by on his way to Flagstaff. It was fun to meet an LJ friend in real life. Eric is just as energetic as I imagined. I wish I had some of that right now before I go off to choir. Speaking of, I'm directing this Sunday. I need to stand in front of a mirror and practice angry glares. It's how I give cues without hands, lol.
Fall is finally in AZ. You have no idea how happy 90 F or less makes me. The color of the sun is more golden and beautiful now, too. Every morning I go out on the balcony and take it in.
I've kind of gotten lazy about posting music. Honestly, I haven't prepared anything great last couple weeks (sorry
twilightfugue haha). I'm doing real stuff this Sunday, so I'll post it. I'm also getting asked about the Average Unicorn. I have a feeling his adventures are not over. Maybe we'll find out soon...
Comps, Mexico, and recital just around the corner. But I still keep up with just about everyone on here, so don't think I'm not paying attention just 'cause I'm not posting. Before I go,
infintysquared sent me a card out of the blue. He gets special mention just for that.
Local ppl: I'm planning a movie night. Anny and Anna and a bunch of people don't know the vicar of dibley. We're going to change that. Stay tuned for details.
I need to learn Spanish -- in a month. help?
