This anime is pretty cool. I'm not even big on anime, but this one was very VERY well done. Watching the DVDs back to back lets you see all the foreshadowing in the earlier episodes...and there's ALOT of it.
But the last episodes are freaky. Completely strange yet biblical and philosophical at the same time.
The entire last episode revolves around the theory of existance. Why are we here and why do we endure loneliness.
Loneliness is a void in our minds that scares us. It scares us because it questions the reason of our existence, our purpose. If you are completely alone, you will never know your purpose, because you can only perceive existence outside of your mind and how you interact with this exterior existence. If there is nothing to respond to this interaction, you will never be able to learn what your truth is. The only way we can discover who we are and what our truth is is by being with others. From that we can shape our perceptions and determine what is right for us. Every individual has their own truth and in a sense reality. In that way each person can accept or deny as much perception as he/she wants to as given by others. This results in friendships and bonds. Sharing of perception and truth brings people together because they feel a purpose in it, a belonging.
