laura seems to me like someone who needs to just chill out...

i had some stupid argument with her (i found out quite late it was an argument), and now i'm being referred to as an 'enemy'. i just get confused and amused at the same time at the irony of how someone could be an enemy...if they don't even know you as she's stated plenty of times. it's like hating what you don't know. seems so stupid. and overly emotional.

i probably shouldn't even skim her stuff anymore, but when my friends page is filled with HOURLY posts by her its hard to avoid. and half is mundane stuff like doing laundry.

with my logical mind I'm intrigued by the brain of artists sometimes. She reminds me alot of me when I was younger...so stuck on principles that they superceded (sp?) friendships and compassion for others. though on the completely liberal side of things. An artist who baskes in non-comformity for the sake of non-comformity. I don't understand feeling resentment at band becoming mainstream. its just irrelevant.

maybe non-comformity is inherent in the occupation of an artist. Imagine that your job is creating things in which everyone could hate or love, and either would be completely true. engineers create things that you can't hate... you can hate the methods used or the sacrifices made to gain it, but its always for the better. just like most other occupations. even the military is made to look like its for the better. and in some small cases it is. but if you had a job where you had to accept that most ppl could hate your work or love it, and you had to accept both, how much aminosity you might grow inside...since an artist's work is simply a reflection of their self and personality...so they develop a need for cliques, or a need to be the non-comformist. after all if you're the non-comformist then no one's 'supposed' to like your work... so its easier to accept when they don't. and you develop a clique with the ppl that do like it, as their personalities are much closer to yours.
