Is the Mobile Gambler an Armchair Enthusiast?
If we were being honest, those of us who enjoy mobile gambling and sports betting would have to admit that, physically, ours is a more leisurely interest than other pursuits. Some people like to get their kicks by being out and about running, rock climbing, participating in sports and so on. Mobile gamblers as the name suggests can also be found on the move, but the similarity tends to end there as the idea is to take full advantage of the wonders of modern technology and use the internet and what it has to offer wherever we are. We might also be participating in some form of competition (casino games, bingo, poker…) but it wouldn’t be a good idea to do it when dangling from a rope, while sporting involvement takes the form of a wager rather than a role (which isn’t to say there’s no passion, of course).
Essentially, even when we’re ‘mobile’ we still like doing what we can do at home. It wouldn’t be surprising to learn that we like to focus on our ‘craft’ to such an extent that we embrace anything that can make some of the more inconvenient aspects of everyday life less so, and researchers at Cornell University might well be on the way to devising the mobile gambler’s dream helper a robot that can do a few jobs for us while we can better concentrate at the job in hand. The robot uses anticipatory algorithms to know what to do for us, with a database of no less than 120 household activities. As can be seen from various sports-watching related adverts on television, the robot’s ability to fetch and even subsequently open and pour a beer is the dream of many, and sensors are used to compare our actions to the database and make predictions accordingly. Ideally the robot could watch, for example, a football match with us (probably without having a beer) and help us improve our match-reading and sports betting skills… Until then, gambling4mobiles continues to do the job of finding the best prices, games and deals for the mobile gambler.
