Good-bye Findabair...
Had to have Findabair put to sleep this morning.
Took her back to the vet because she'd licked a hole all the way through to the broken elbow tip. He had to gas her to calm her down enough to look at the arm which has swollen up really badly again. The new x-ray showed that not only had she traumatized the arm, but that the bones had started pulling apart and were deteriorating, even the bones that had not been broken had faded away along their length to almost nothing. Vet said it was probably cancer and that we could try amputating the arm, but there would be no guarantee that we'd gotten it all or that it wouldn't come back. He said that we probably wouldn't be able to manage the pain. The only humane thing to do was to go ahead and put her to sleep. So, we did. Doesn't make it hurt any less. She was only 2 months out of pouch. Going to see if I can get one of the guys to come help me dig her grave.
