CH 1
Ok so since this thing got the okay and good job stuff from Megs I will post the first chapter. Then I will tell you what happened after yoga today.
CH1
Meg stared out the cab window at the cold and dreary city that lay before her. “Well,” she said to no one in particular, “This sure isn’t Kansas anymore.” She laughed at her own joke until the cab driver looked up at her in the rearview mirror. Meg cleared her throat and went back to staring out the window.
“Another one bites the dust,
Another one bites the dust
And another ones ……..”
Meg picked up her cell phone and gave the cab driver, who had laughed at her song choice for her ringer, a nasty look. “Hey Loren, yeah I am almost at the gate to the campus. The driver says he can’t go on campus so can you meet me at the gate ……Great! I’ll see you in like 10 then.” Meg flicked her phone closed and couldn’t help but shiver. It was only September but Boston was already cold. This was going to be a LONG year.
Lorena walked with her jacket pulled up to her ears towards the University of Boston’s dormitory gate. She smiled and waved to a couple of people she knew from her previous year at UB and laughed when she felt hands cover her eyes. “Mike I can’t see,” she said with a giggle.
“Uhhhhhh I believe that’s the whole point babe.” The hands did leave her eyes however and Loren turned to see her boyfriend with a cheesy smile splattered across his face.
“Mike your such a dork.” Loren linked her arm in his and kept walking toward the gate.
“Can I ask where we are going?” Mike looked around as someone of in the distance called out a greeting.
“To pick up Meg, my Freshman roommate at the main gate.”
“Oh yes, now I remember. Cute red head right?”
Loren swatted at Mike. “Yeah, you just remember the cute blonde head that loves you.”
Mike wrapped his arms around Loren, “You don’t have to worry I love you too.”
Meg sat at the gate and paid her cab driver. She waited for her roommate to come and get her and was seriously nervous. I mean she had only met Loren once briefly and now here she was actually in fricken Massachusetts so far away from her friends and family. Well it would be for the best, Meg was sure of it. Just one year in Boston and then she would transfer back to Kansas, she just needed a break from all of the drama.
Meg saw Loren before Loren saw her. She couldn’t help but note the cute gy hanging on Loren’s arm. Hmmmmmm, Meg thought, maybe he has some hot friends.
When Loren got to Meg the first thing she did was give her a big hug. She couldn’t imagine how scared and nervous the girl probably was. She remembered last year when she had started at Boston and how scared she was. And she had only moved from Detroit, this girl was coming all the way from Kansas. Loren finally let Meg go and introduced Mike.
“Don’t worry,” Mike joked, “I am not gonna hug you like that.”
Meg laughed at Mike’s attempt at humor. Yeah she could get used to this.
Okay so with that posted I will tell ya'll about what happened this afternoon. Remember that guy that I told you all about a couple of posts back, the one I ran into while checking the mail. Well I ran into him again today. Today it was in the student center where I was buying my English 101 book. He was behind me turning in a book from last term that I guess was only an 8 week class and he said "Hi." I asked him what class he was picking up this term and he said English 101. He is gonna be in my English class, along with about 50 other people, but I was so excited. Still don't know his name. Damn Lynn for not remembering who he was. Okay so now I am of to check my grade on the History Final at the University website. Wish me luck!!
