I. Love. Stephen. Lynch.
The Chance and his fans in P-town can kiss my pale white ass, but I love Stephen.
Doors open at 7:30 you say? Tosh! Make it 8! Those dumb fuckers with the tickets can wait in the rain! On a line that stretches around the block! And let's put chairs down, so many people need to stand behind poles on their toes trying to see! That'll be GREAT!
Da fuck? I've NEVER been in the Chance with CHAIRS. People, you can stand and enjoy Lynch - I sure did - two hours, behind some girl, as I tried not to block the people sitting to the right of me (because security had their eye on me - one false move and I'd have been moved to near the bar). And - what a crowd. The dude gets up and announces upcoming shows. The local groups get silence, Static X gets about two people applauding, and then half the crowd cheers for some idiot from American Idol? It was definitely not your average Chance crowd. I am officially worried about Lynch's fan base.
But he made it all better. So hot. So fucking funny - if I had balls, I'd have laughed them off. Plus, his friend Rod Cone was there (he's on many of the CDs and has toured with him), plus he gained a
new boy toy/sidekick from the Wedding Singer cast who is also a sick fuck who writes v. v. funny shit. And has the Broadway voice to do it all so well. Bought the demo - tis wonderful. Check it out -

He started with Gynecologist - a longer version than I knew, and it was love. To my lower right were two women in their 30s or 40s who, it was apparent, had little previous knowledge of Stephen's music. I thought the one was going to fall off her chair, and I think the other actually pissed herself.
Some heckling caused him to break into Freebird, and he threatened to play the whole thing. I think he could, too!
He didn't play Lullabye (one of my favorites) but he played all the good songs from "Craig Machine" incl Beelz! (<3<3<3<3) And they played some of Josefsberg's songs, which were cool. And the ending was the three doing the D&D song - w/ NKoTB dancing at the end. I love musical theater boys, esp. straight ones.
