London Film and Comic Con

So, yesterday jhava, bigtitch and I went to LFCC. Originally my main reason to go had been William Shatner, but then they also announced three of the main cast of Being Human - Aidan Turner, Russell Tovey and Lenora Crichlow. And there was to be a talk with Aidan and Colin Teague on Being Human and Resonance (new project of Colin and Aidan - Will you help).

After finding a lovely little Italian cafe which serves awsome coffee and bacon baguettes, I moved on to queue at Earl's Court and meet up with the girls. Queues were huge but moved really fast once the doors were opened - take note MCM Expo! We went to secure talk and virtual Q tickets first and then got our autographs from Lenora who wasn't very busy. She's very sweet and oh so pretty! Shortly after it was time to go see Russell who is very very lovely indeed. He took time to chat with everyone and also posed for pics with everyone who asked. He revealed he's just finished filming Him and Her and appearantly for most of it he's in bed...he said it was a very comfortable shoot! It starts airing in September. Oh and...for some reason I thought he was taller and broader then he actually is! TV can be deceptive can it...

The one that hadn't shown yet was Aidan Turner...there was just a rather twitchy PA sitting where he was supposed to be. We were wondering wether he'd pulled a GDL but he showed up just in time for his foto shoot :-)

Talk next - it was actually at the same time as the Shatner photoshoot which I had a ticket for, but LFCC staff told me that the photoshoot would go on for quite a while...they'd sold several hundreds of them. So we queued early for the talk and got rather nice seats. To my delight Russell and Lenora were in it as well which I hadn't really expected. They talked Being Human for 20 minutes or so and then they showed a clip from Resonance. It does look intrigueing...and hell Aidan is in it, that's enough reason to watch it. Aidan, Colin and some others of the Resonance team then did a session on that but I left to get my photo with the Shatner as I didn't want to leave it too late.

Let me just say, I hope none of all those many people were expecting to exchange some words with the man! Dear god I thought the Barrowman shot in MK had been a quick one, but this one was impressive. Already in the queue I could hear Malcolm go "Ready-thank you-next"...I think he took about 3 seconds for each picture. Amazing. The Shatner looked a bit tired and done in as he had been through about three hundred shots by this time. Oh well. I got to see one of my first crushes up close and had my picture taken with him (haven't seen it yet as I couldn't be arsed to wait for several hours so I'm trusting in Showmaster's ability to identify me from my description and send me the right one!). Didn't bother with an autograph though - I'm sure that went equally fast and I'd forked out enough for the photo already!

And then it was time to get Aidan's photograph. Dear god the man is pretty. And charming. Claimed he was "doing stuff" but not partying until 3 am as his reason for being late. And that "they" hadn't been happy with him. All this with the most cheeky smile. Oh. *fans self*

There might have been some squeeing after this. And need for a drink. So off we wandered in search for drink and food. There was pizza and puddings and pink wine. Nom.
