My Answers
1- Wesley/Gunn is cuter because it's more of an equal relationship. I'm thinking of when they were friends, of course, I'm assuming if the pairing happened it would grow out of their friendship and not out of the UST between them from when they were foe-like. Anyhoo, it was so cute when Wesley would do the hand-slap-thing with Gunn. Wesley/Angel would have a more transgressive vibe because Wesley could be so sycophantic towards Angel, especially in the early seasons.
2- Xander. No doubt. I don't think evil dead are her type.
3- Willow/Anya, because there's more dislike both ways. Willow hated Cordy, but Cordy didn't really care about Willow.
4- Oz/Buffy. There was deliberate sub-texty Buffy/Faith stuff in "Bad Girls." I can see the UST in that ship. There was nothing like that between Buffy and Oz.
ETA: I misread the question. Thought it was Oz/Buffy vs. Buffy/Faith. I still see Oz/Buffy harder to grasp I guess. Faith would sleep with almost anyone.
5- Xander. See: "Intervention".
6- Spike/Angel. It was the darkness in Buffy that attracted Spike. Angel also has darkness. Xander, not so much. Also, Angel is Spike's equal, like Buffy.
7- Andrew/Anya. They had on-screen chemistry. Andrew/Dawn, not so much. Although neither makes much sense since Andrew is gay.
8- Angel. Leaving Kennedy aside, since that was just an end-of-the-world-fling and not real love (uh huh) Willow seems to go for the quiet, sensitive types.
9- Cordelia/Willow. Like Xander, Willow would bitch back at Cordy. We never saw Xander do that to Larry, Also, after he came out, it seems like Larry got much nicer, not as bitchy.
10- Wes/Lilah! Definitely! "We have a relationship..." how cute was that?
11- Darla. Dru's nuts.
12- Gunn/Tara. Fred blathers too much to be Oz-like.
13- Spike/Andrew. Because they'd be more tensions and dissonance.
14- Lorne. Lorne's cool and witty and better looking than Clem.
15- Spike/Angel. They've all but said it is cannon, actually, didn't they? While I'm prepared to accept that Giles may have experimented when he was young, he really doesn't strike me as at all slashable.
16- Angel/Conner I guess, since of the age thing and the parent thing, which is more weird than sibling-cest, I guess.
17- Doyle. Angel likes mates that can sass back. Like I said early, Wes is something of a sycophant.
