Feb 18, 2011 22:10

I'm a bit late with this, but this was my entry for last week's challenge over at drabble_las. This week's entries have been posted and are now in the voting stage. If you've got the time, please head over and vote. There are some great entries this week.

Name: lorelaisquared
Fandom: Doctor Who
Story Title: The Blame Game
Character/Relationships: Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Prompt: "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way."

They found it in an art gallery in Paris in 5043. It was a comic book drawn by a child who blamed the Doctor for his mother’s tragic death.

The Doctor peered at it through the glass, his frown deepening as he studied it.

“You hate being depicted as the ‘bad guy’ don’t you?” Rose asked softly.

He attempted to joke, saying, “I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way,” but it fell flat and he grew silent, lost in his thoughts.

Rose touched his arm. “It’s not your fault, you know.”

“But it is, Rose. It’s always my fault.”
