I'm so sorry you feel that way.

Please keep in mind that this is a fictional story, and the wonderful thing about fanfic is that you are not bound to the confines of the schedules of the actors or actresses. In the context of the show, of course RTD had to give Rose the best happy ending her could (thought I'm not 100% convinced that leaving her ant TenII on that beach is it). Ten was reaching the end of his "life", the lead actors were leaving. I get that and I'm fine with it.

But this is fiction and my goal in writing this story was to explore other possibilities. Partly it was to look at what kind of life she could have had with TenII - and I think I've accomplished that. But partly it is also to look at the idea of what would happen if she had that life with TenII and was very happy in that life and then ended up back in Ten's universe with a child. It's complex and tragic and dynamic all at once. This story is about so much more than just giving the Doctor or Rose a happy ending. Personally, I've always had great issue with the Doctor just dumping Rose and TenII on that beach without any choice or opinion in the matter - that's something I plan to explore at some point.

This story was always headed here, to be honest, and I was incredibly nervous about posting this chapter. (In my head, I always knew that Rose would become "Bad Wolfed" and that TenII was human, so I always knew that it was a tragic set up - the Romeo and Juliet comparisons were definitely deliberate). For me, it's not so much a matter of who she belongs with - I can see her with either, it depends a LOT on the circumstances - but it's about the story and the journey, and much of this is about Rose's own personal journey. Remember, she's essentially immortal now and she hasn't yet processed the implications of that.

I'm terribly sorry if I have disappointed you with this particular story twist, but bear in mind that I am not an author who glosses anything over. If Rose is ever to be with Ten I (and I'm not saying she will or won't) it will be earned and it will not be easy. It's not like she's just going to forget all about TenII and jump into something with TenI - it's so much more complex than that. And of course, there's the whole issue of Viola. There WILL be a sequel, most likely several, and though I hope you will stay with me and see where I take them, I will understand if you choose to stop reading. (Also, keep in mind that there is still one more chapter of this part to go).
